Two traditional music venues have been awarded  €38,591 in funding from the Arts and Culture Capital Scheme.
Clare Fine Gael TD Joe Carey has confirmed that €20,000 has been allocated to Cois na hAbhna in Ennis with a further €18,591 going to Teach Ceoil in Kilrush.
“The first two rounds of funding under the scheme were for bigger arts and cultural organisations that required upgrading of existing facilities. The latest allocations are specifically aimed at smaller organisations with a defined arts and cultural remit that make a positive contribution to their local communities.
“While the amounts involved are relatively modest, these grants will make a positive difference to both the Ennis and Kilrush venues which are operated by Comhaltas Ceoilteoiri Eireann.
“With Clare hosting the All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil over the coming weeks, it is appropriate that the funding is being made available at this time,” Deputy Carey added.
