There are 1786 Clare farmers who have not had the opportunity to take up the REPS4 scheme. This is a potential loss of €11.6 million to the Clare economy. Even a 100% take up of the newly proposed environmental scheme which is capped at €5000 implies a loss of €2.5 million.

To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the number of farmers per county due to finish REP scheme three in 2010 and 2011 that have not transferred to REP scheme four in tabular form.

For WRITTEN answer on Tuesday, 26th January, 2010.
