I want to thank sincerely the people of Clare who have elected me for a third time. I am honored and humbled to continue to represent this great county of ours.

I want to thank my family, friends, supporters and of course my staff, and all those who knocked on doors, put up posters, made tea and sandwiches and helped out in recent weeks and months.

Every time Clare has returned two Fine Gael TDs, there’s been a Carey on the ticket. Many people wrote me off, but there were many who kept the faith, and I will continue to deliver for County Clare. I will focus on jobs, tourism, Shannon Airport, for better public services and on helping create a more equal society.

I also want to pay tribute to outgoing TD Michael McNamara and wish him well in his future endeavors.

There will be many challenges ahead, but along with the other three elected TDs here in County Clare, I am sure we will forge partnerships that will positively impact on society here.

Thank you all.
