My Government colleague, Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government, Phil Hogan, has confirmed to me that Clare County Council will be given €1 million to enable works on the Shannon Sewerage Scheme. This is good news for Shannon and the county as a whole.

This funding will greatly expand both the quality and the scale of the water and wastewater infrastructure. It will also be hugely important in supporting economic growth in the Shannon area and help sustain new development, while also adhering to water and environmental standards.

This funding will provide for the significant mechanical and electrical upgrade works at four pumping stations on the Shannon Sewerage Scheme.

The funding has been signed off by Minister Hogan, and once Clare County Council complete contract formalities, and attract a tender, then work can start as soon as possible.
